Dear Resident,

I am delighted to have been elected as a Councillor in the Blanchardstown – Mulhuddart electoral area.

I would like to be your voice and act in the best interests of our diverse Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart community which includes the areas of Blanchardstown Village, Waterville, Corduff, Tyrrelstown, Hollystown, St. Margaret’s, Lanesborough, the rural areas north of the N3 and parts of Castleknock.

KEY ISSUES
Investment in new schools (primary and secondary) together with allocation of funding for improvement of infrastructure of existing schools
Good resources for children like additional playgrounds and improvements to existing ones, improvement in sports facilities and designated community centres
Ensure the local road network can match capacity for business and residential planning
There are numerous ways that we can work together to improve our community and make it a better place to live. So, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any issues, concerns, and ideas as how we can work together to improve our local area.
I look forward to meeting you over the coming months and to discuss the issues that matter to you.
A bit about me . . . .

I have lived in Dublin 15 for the last 16 years with my husband and daughter. As a parent of a 13-year-old, I have been involved in local scouts, running, and basketball clubs – encouraging adults and children to participate.
I have always been interested in politics and I became involved in Fine Gael over the last few years. I decided that I want to become more active, drive change and improvements within our area which is what has motivated me to decide to run in the local elections in May.
I have a degree in Maths & Physics, a post – graduate degree in Computer Science and an MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School in Technology Management.
I have worked for a number of multi-national companies in Dublin and am the Co-Founder of Appistoki, a consultancy and technology organisation.
I am a strong supporter of initiatives like Women in Tech and Girls in Tech. I mentor Technology start-ups and entrepreneurs to build and foster an organic community promoting good mentorship.

My main points as a county Councillor will be :

  1. Promoting and supporting Dublin 15 SMEs through the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) – Supporting small businesses in Dublin 15 through mentorship and support services apart from promoting their businesses. This is a focal point where I feel I can make a difference given the work experience that I have had in my career
  2. Develop stronger links with schools and Blanchardstown IT(which is now part of TUD – Technology University Dublin)
  3. Investment in new schools (primary and secondary) and allocation of funding for improvement of infrastructure of existing schools
  4. Good resources for children like additional playgrounds and improvements to existing ones, improvement in sports facilities and designated community centres in Waterville, Tyrrelstown and Lanesborough
  5. Ensure the local road network can match capacity for business and residential planning
  6. Maintenance of cycle paths and safe crossings at schools
  7. There is a significant industrial and Pharma base in Balycoolin. I will work towards ensuring commercial rates from those businesses are spent wisely within the local community
  8. Addressing anti-social behaviour and ensure crime rates are handled by supporting existing community neighbourhood watch groups, and lobby for greater Garda presence in our community
  9. Highlighting residents’ concerns in relation to the flight path for the new Dublin Airport runway
  10. Bus Connects concerns - I have submitted my feedback and concerns after talking to a number of people and will keep you informed of any information or updates from the National Transport Authority
